Tonight is finally the winter party, after weeks of rehearsal, both Lilly and Katherine felt like they’re ready to perform. There are still butterflies in their stomach though. Heather has been busy preparing and decorating the auditorium for the party for the past few weeks too. After all that preparation she felt like she has a calling to be the greatest part planner.

Kathy has been busy getting ready for the party ever since she woke up. She laid out her dress on her bed, took out her shoes and put then beside her bed and took out all the makeup from the drawers and put them on the dressing table.

“Mom! Have you seen my shimmering ocean blue eye shadow?” she shouted out to her mother.

Her mom walked into her room and took the eye shadow for her from her table.

“Sweetie, it was here on your table. Don’t get too nervous, it’s only a performance. By the way why are you getting ready so early?”

“Thanks mom. Well it’s my very first live performance in front of a crowd and not just any crowd it’s the whole school. So yeah, I should be nervous. Anyone who’s performing or had a task in the party has to be there by 3 in the afternoon to get ready.” She said.

“Why do you need to be there early then?” her mom asked.

“Well we have to do sound check, the lightings and the final prep for the performance tonight.” She explained while she put on her lip-gloss. She then packed the rest of her makeup kit into her makeup purse and dump t into a bigger bag.

“Where are you going to put your dress and do your makeup later?” Her mom went to sit on her bed.

“There’s a dressing room backstage for us and I can leave my stuff there. So it’s all good.” She took a hanger and hung her dress and kept her shoes into the bag too.

“So can I crash the party tonight?” Keith walked into her room.

“Why are you still immature sometimes? You do know you need tickets to get into the party.” She walked to him and took his muffin from his plate.

“Hey, that’s mine. Well since you took my muffin, can I get a ticket to the party, I got nothing to do tonight plus I’ll be here for another 2 more days so I can spend more time with you.” He’s got something planned in mind and Kathy knows that just from looking at his face.

“Okay what are you up to?” She asked him.

“Nothing, I just want to go to the party and have a good time beside, mom told me to take this video camera to record your performance.” He held out a camera. “See” he put on a cheeky smile on his face.

Kathy got up and went to punch him on his arm. “Fine you can go, but I’m not sure if there’s any ticket left. Let me call Heather and ask her.”

She took her phone and dialed Heather’s number. “Heath, I was wondering if there’s any ticket left for the party tonight. ....uh-huh….okay… thanks a lot. Yeah save one for me, I’ll get it from you later. Yeah see you. Bye.”

“You’re in luck bro, there a few left. I told Heather to save one for me. I’ll get it for you but in return you have to drive me to school later.”

“Sure, no problem. Anything for you.” He said.

“I’m so glad I got two kids that get along well ever since you both were young.” She said it like a proud mom.

“Well mom you’re just lucky I can handle him and his immature actions.” She said to her mother.

“I’ll go prepare lunch now. Have your lunch before you leave okay. Oh don’t forget the camera.”

“Sure mom. I got the camera in my bag already.”

“Keith you too stay for lunch before you go anywhere.” She went o kiss his forehead like how she did when he was little.

“Be careful with that, put it at that corner. Amanda, please prepare the dressing room and clear anything that does not belong in there. We need to make room for the performers.” Heather was already busy ordering people to put things in place. She had a clipboard on her hand. It’s filled with papers of the table map, seating map, the schedule of the whole event, name of all the people involved in the party and some other important stuff.

“Heather, I’m here. Sorry for being late. Keith here is to be blame.” Kathy walked towards Heather.

“Keith, are you here to help out?” Heather asked him.

“Nope, I’m just Kath’s chauffer and her personal butler and cameraman for today. I’m also here to get my ticket.” He helped carried Kathy’s bag following behind her.

“Okay then, you’ll be no help too if you’re here. Anyway here’s your ticket and thanks for bringing Kath here. We’ll see you tonight and you shall go now. Shoo shoo.” Heather said to him.

“See you later sis.” He handed her the bag and left.

“Okay work time, Kath go back stage and put your things there. The dressing room should be cleared out by now and Lilly is probably in there right now. When you’re done, come back out here.” Heather ordered her.

“Yes boss.” She teased her.

Kathy went backstage and went into the dressing room.

“Hey Lil” she said to Lilly.

“Het Kath, you’re late?” she asked her.

“Yeah Keith was being a slow poke just now. We’re supposed to go back out again. Heather’s orders.” Kathy told Lilly.

“Oh that’s your dressing table and you can hang your dress there on the rack.” Lilly pointed out.

After Kathy settled all her things, she and Lilly went outside and helped out. After a while helping out, it was their turn to do sound check and the lightings check. Throughout the whole preparation, they could hear Heather’s orders to everyone loud and clear.

“No, don’t put that there……. Oh give it to me, I’ll do it myself………. Clean that up…..Sweep that corner…….NO! the food goes there not the props…..You up there stop playing with the lights…..Keep moving people we got no time to fool around………..” those were the things that they kept hearing. Heather was moving up and down the stage, carrying things all around.

By 6.30pm everything was done just the little touches left. Everyone got into their party clothes and girls put on their makeup. The toilet was filled with people. They all gussy up just before the party starts. After they were done, they were assigned to their post. Some were at the entrance welcoming and checking the tickets. Some were the photographers and some were security.

“Heather, I think everyone is gonna love your decorations, you put so much effort into it. Don’t worry too much.” Lilly put her hand on her shoulder.

“I think almost everyone is here. “Kathy said to them.

“Okay first up well make sure everyone out side has already settle down and seated. Magicians, Lucas You’re up. Break a leg. Go” Heather told him.

“Oh sound people; get ready all you technical people on queue.” She talked through her walkie-talkie.

Both Lilly and Kathy looked at Heather. They’ve never seen her like this before and is amazed with her leadership.

“You know what Heather with you ordering them around, I think they’re gonna hate you. I think after this you better treat them something as a thank you to them.”Kathy suggested.

“I know, I will but now’s not the time to talk about this, now you two, I’m gonna go get food for you. You’ll have it here and you’re not allowed to go out there. Not until it’s your time to perform which is about 8 O’clock.”

“Okay, we’ll stay here. Oh get us the good food. I’m hungry.” Lilly said.

They both waited and had their meal in the dressing room. They try to find ways to keep themselves entertain while waiting for their turn to perform.

“Oh I’ve been looking for that Juicy couture tracksuit. I can’t find it here. I want to get the blue one.” Lilly said to Kathy.

“Oh I got this when I went to LA last month. Maybe we should go them after all this.

What about next week. We’ll get Heather to unwind.” Kathy suggested.

“Sure, that’d be awesome.”

Heather walked into their room. “Okay girls, show time! Good luck.”
Kathy started getting nervous. “Take a deep breath, you’ll be fine.” Lilly reassure Kathy.

They both walked onto stage and started their first song. “Okay are you ready to get this party started everyone?” Lilly shouted.

“Yeah” Everyone shouted back.

“One Two Three…” Lilly said then started playing her guitar and Kathy started singing, their first song was ‘Masquerade’ Ashley Tisdale’s song. To pump everyone up, then they continued playing a Christmas song ‘Rockin’ around the Christmas tree’.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and as they went on with the songs, Kathy began to feel more comfortable. Keith was in the crowd dancing while taking the video of Kathy’s performance with Lilly.

Heather was with the crowd trying to enjoy her time but at the same time making sure everything is still in place and running in order. Just as she walked to the buffet table to check if there’s enough food left, Ryan walked into the auditorium. He was dress up, fancy. He wore a white buttoned up shirt with a blazer and a black pants, he looked sharp indeed. He was holding a bouquet of flowers. Heather walked towards him and he saw her.

“So glad you came. Just in time. Kathy is performing now. She’s doing great so far despite her being nervous before the show.” Heather said to him.

“Sorry for being a bit late, I just needed to find a florist which is still open at this time. You look great by the way and the party looks awesome. Glad I didn’t miss her performance.” He was amazed with her performance. You would never know that this girl is able to sing this well just by looking at her. She have such a powerful voice.

“Those are for Kathy right? Yeah everyone gets that kind of reaction on their face if they've never heard her sing before. She a great singer isn’t she.” Heather pointed out.

“Yeah she’s amazing.” He was pretty much speechless by that time. “She looks amazing too.” He continued.

“Haha, okay, I know you’re amaze. Have something to eat while you wait for her. She’s almost done with her performance and it’ll be Lilly’s turn to perform solo.” Heather told him.

“Okay, thanks. I’ll just wait here.” Ryan told her.

Keith arm was tired already. He couldn’t hold up his arm any longer and he knew he should have brought the tripod stand; he was scolding himself in his mind for forgetting the tripod stand. When he wanted to go and grab a cup of punch for himself, he saw Ryan standing there. He walked over to him.

“Hey dude. Remember me.” He smiled.

“Yeah, you’re Kathy’s brother.”He told Keith.

“Weird seeing you here, this is a student’s party and invited guest only.” Keith told him.

“Well, I was invited and you’re not a student here too.” Ryan said with a smile.

“Touché to you” Keith said, feeling a bit ashamed when he realizes the fact.

“So are you enjoying the party?” Keith asked him.

“Yeah, the party looks great. Your sister is a good singer. She’s amazing.” Ryan told Keith.

“Yeah, she has been singing ever since I could ever remember but she just never had the guts to perform in live audience.” Keith replied.
Everyone cheered and clapped their hands after Kathy finished her performance. She took a bow and went backstage.

“Good job Kath” Lilly said to her just before she went out.

“Good luck Lilly.” She said to her.

She then walked back to the dressing room to check her make-up and fix her hair, just before she was about to leave the room, there was a knock on the door.

“Come in.” She said.

Ryan walked in with the flowers on his hand.

“Hey.” He smiled.

Kathy recognized that voice very clearly. She quickly looked to the door. “Ryan?” she was very shocked.

“You did a great job out there and your voice is amazing. Here, it’s for you.” He handed her the flowers.

“Thanks. I’m surprise you’re here. How did you know about this party?” Kathy asked him.

“Well, you gotta promise me something before I tell you how I know about you performing and the party.” He said to her.

“Okay, promise.”

“Don’t kill her, but Heather told me about this whole thing when we were at the photo shoot. She know you’re gonna kill her if you found out about her inviting me to this party.” He smiled.

“Oh, I will kill her for sure .She said but calmed down after a while.

“Well you already promised not to kill her.” He laughed. “You look amazing tonight.” He continued.

“Well you don’t look too bad yourself, nice suite. “She said to him.

“Since you’re free now, would you like to dance with me?” he asked her reaching out his hand to her.

“I would love to.” She smile and gave him her hand.

They walked out and to the dance floor. As they walked Lilly sang ‘Two is better than one’ by Boys like girls.

Ryan held Kathy’s hand and when they reached the dance floor, he took her hands and put them on his shoulder, he put his hand on her waist gently. They started slow dancing. Lilly saw them and she couldn’t help it but smiled happily for her friend.

“You know, I’m glad you came and I’m glad Heather asked you to come too.” She smiled while looking at him.

“I’m glad I came and I’m glad Heather asked me to come too.” Ryan said to her

“Yeah?” she asked him.

“Yeah, cuz I want to know if you’d like to be my girlfriend. I’ve been having a blast hanging out with you and I think you’re amazing.” He smiled nervously. His hear was racing when he asked her and confessed his love to her.

Kathy was silent for a while. She was trying to take it all in, because the guy of her dreams just asked her to be his girlfriend and it would be any girls’ dream come true. She wasn’t sure if she was dreaming or not.

“Yeah….I’d love to be your girlfriend. “She smiled.

Ryan was happy with her answer, he’s filled with joy. He reached down a bit to her and kissed her. It would be consider as their first kiss together. Kathy was sure her heart stopped beating for a while. This was perfect for her. She would never think it would happen but it did. The perfect song was being played the moment was perfect.
Lilly saw what had just happened and she sang the song with dedication to them. Heather saw them from backstage and she was even filled with joy for her friend, she felt like if it wasn’t for her this wouldn’t have happen. She quickly took her camera and took some pictures of them. Keith wasn’t too far, he saw what happened too. He’s happy to see his sister so happy, the kind of happy that he had never seen before.
They both looked at each other, Kathy leaned on his chest and they continued dancing.
This night is a night to be remembered for them.

After another 2 songs, Lilly finished her performance and the DJ started spinning some tunes. Lilly went to her date and they dance for a while and after a while, her date decided to go hang with his friends. Lilly didn’t care; she quickly went to look for Heather.

“Oh my Gosh!” Lilly squeal when she saw Heather.

“I know, I saw and I manage to take some pictures, see.” Heather showed her the pictures.

“This is awesome. They look so cute together. Luckily I sang the right song during the right time.” Lilly said.

“Well if it weren’t for me it wouldn’t have happened, I was the one who invited Ryan to this party.” Heather boasts.

“Okay you do get some credit for doing that. By the way where’s your date?” Lilly asked her.

“Oh he’s out there somewhere being a security. I’ll go out soon to hang with him. I do feel bad for not spending some time with him.” Heather said

“Hey ladies.” Keith walked towards them.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” Lilly asked him.

“I’m here for the party. I’m having fun so far but I just saw my sister smooching that Ryan dude.” Keith said.

“Well you should be happy, you sister just had a dream come true. “Lilly told him.

“Where’s your date by the way?” Keith asked Lilly.

“Oh he went to hang out with his buddies. He’s not a good date anyway. I’m enjoying the party without him.” Lilly said.

“Well would you like to dance?” Keith asked her.

“With you?” now she asked shyly.

“Yeah with me. I am the one who asked you.” He said to her.

“Em sure.” Keith led her out, she turned her head to look at Heather, and Heather gave her a wink.

Lilly followed behind Keith, when they reached the dance floor, they just dance, when the slow song came on, Lilly looked away awkwardly and was about to walk away, Keith pulled Lilly’s hand and pulled her closer to him. She didn’t know what else to do. He pulled her hands and put them on his shoulder then started dancing. Lilly didn’t dare look at Keith but she has a huge crush on him. When she finally got the guts to look at him in the face, she saw how handsome he looked that night. She stared blushing a bit. Keith looked at her and their eyes locked; he stared into her beautiful hazel brown eyes.

He pulled her in closer and kissed her. Lilly’s eyes were opened as she was shocked but she was thrilled. She closed her eyes and took in the moment. Keith wasn’t sure why he was doing this, but he has a gut feeling that he wanted to kiss her so much. He felt like he has fallen for her. Keith knew the age difference between them but he didn't care at that moment when he held her close.

“That was the most fun I have ever had, well not as much fun as Disneyland though.” Lilly said.

“Okay, we know. You’ve already said that like 20 times already.” Heather said.

They were doing some shopping at the mall. They were trying to find some dresses for the winter party. They weren’t sure what they were looking for but they had lots of time to roam around the mall.

“Oh look at that!” Lilly pointed at the display window near them.

It was a beautiful turquoise strapless dress. They just stared at the dress in front of the store for a while, taking it all in.

“Okay we have to go in and try it on!” Kathy finally spoke for all of them.

“We’ll see who will look best in the dress, besides it looks like they got lots of choice in there. They look like designer dresses too.” Heather pointed out.

They walked into store, pushed open the door. The bell rang when the door was opened. A salesgirl behind the counter stopped what she was doing and went to welcome them into the store.

“Welcome, feel free to look around. These dresses here on this rack has 50% discount.” She pointed a rack next to her filled with beautiful dresses.

“Okay, thanks, but we’d like to try that turquoise strapless there on display.” Lilly said.

“Sure, no problem I’ll take it down for you.” The salesgirls said.
She handed Lilly the dress and showed her the way to the dressing room.

“I’ll go try it on first” She told them.

Both Kathy and Heather went looking around racks of dresses and party clothes. Kathy pulled out a black bubble dress with a pink ribbon on the dress. Heather pulled out a navy blue halter dress. They went on picking out 5 other dresses in 2 minutes while waiting for Lilly. After a while Lilly finally came out wearing the dress.

“What do you think?” she asked them while she gave a spin.

“It looks great, it fits you perfectly but it seems a bit loose.” Heather said

“How does the first part of your sentence make sense if it’s a bit loose?” Kathy said.

“Okay then Lilly it does not fit you perfectly but it looks good on you.” Heather said again.

“Okay so I know it looks good on me then. You turn Kathy.” Lilly said.

Lilly went back in to change and came out handing the dress over to Kathy. She then proceed to go and change. While she was in the dressing room, Heather pulled Lilly over to the further end of the store where Kathy could not hear them.

“What’s up?” Lilly said.

“I told Ryan something yesterday.” Heather told her.

“What, Did you told him you love him and to dump Kathy and runaway with you?” Lilly said dramatically in one breath.

“What?! No but it’s a funny thought you have there.” Heather said.

“Then what?” Lilly asked.

“Just as we walked out of the studio after the shoot, I asked Ryan to got to the school Winter party.” Heather said.

“You mean to go as your date? Oh Kathy is going to be so mad at you if she find out, she’s probably gonna kill you.” Lilly said.

“No, wrong again. I didn’t ask him out, I just asked him to go see the performance and maybe surprise Kathy and be her date. But you are right about her killing me if she finds out.” Heather said.

“Oh my, you are in so much trouble right now.” Lilly said in a melody tone.

“Lil, Heath!” Kathy called out.

They both went over to the dressing room and have a look at Kathy. They were breathless at the first sight. She looked great in the dress; it did defiantly fit her PERFECTLY.

“WOW” both of them said and it was all they could say at the moment.

“That’s it it’s defiantly yours and I defiantly don’t need to try it on.” Heather said.

“Girl, it looks awesome on you. You look very beautiful in it. We might just need to get you some nice accessories and a cute shoe to match with it.” Lilly said

“You guys seem like you’re exaggerating with the compliments.” Kathy laughed.

“No we’re not.” Heather said.

“Okay then I’ll take this but I really like the black dress that I picked out, I’ll
just get both of them.” Kathy said.

“Ooh, Lilly that lime green dress looks nice and not too over the top, you should get it.” She continued.

“She’s right Lil, the dress looks gorgeous and it might be great for your complexion.” Heather said.

“Now my turn, I need a dress” Heather continued.

“Okay, what about that black strapless bubble dress?” Lilly pointed out.

“No, it looks a bit too normal.” Heather said.

“What about that red silk mini?” Kathy asked.

“No, too much.” Heather said.

“Oh this looks cute.” Heather pulled out an A symmetrical dress in purple.

“It is cute!” Kathy said.

“Well anything that’s purple looks cute or beautiful to you.” Lilly said to Kathy.

“Well it does look cute and it seems like it will fit you nicely.” Lilly said to Heather.

“Then it’s decide, I’ll get you.” Heather said to the dress.

They all purchased their dresses and proceed to look for a nice pair of shoe. They went into their usual shoe store, it’s filled with different kinds of shoes, and it’s like a shoe heaven.

“HI, Alice.” The girls greeted a middle-aged woman in the store when they went in.

“Hi girls, how are my favorite customers?” Alice asked them.

“We’re fine thanks, but we need your help to find the perfect shoes for these dresses.” Kathy showed her their dress.

“Oh I’ve got the perfect shoes for these dressed, just wait here and I’ll go get it.” Alice told them.

“Thank you very much Alice” Lilly said.

They all looked around the store while they waited for Alice to get their shoes. Finally after a few minutes, Alice came out with 6 boxes filled with shoes for them.

“Here you go ladies.” She handed them the shoes.

“Wow, this is really perfect for my dress.” Heather said.

“I think you’re the shoe Goddess.” Lilly said to Alice.

They all laughed at Lilly’s comment.

“Well thanks, glad you like these shoes.” Alice smiled.

The girls looked at the mirror together, admiring the beautiful shoes.

“Girls, we are defiantly going to took fabulous in the party.” Heather said to them.

“You got that right.” Lilly said
They all proceeded to purchase their shoes.

“Thanks Alice.” The girls said together as they walked out the door.

“So now we got our whole outfits together, that one thing done in the check list.” Heather said.

“I’m hungry; let’s go to the food court.” Lilly suggested.

“Okay. I’m starting to get hungry too.” Kathy held onto her stomach.

The girls walked to the food court and on their way, they bumped into Ryan. He was hanging out with his friend, Casey and Tony.

“Hi.” Ryan said to them.

“Hey.” Kathy said back to him.

“Nice bumping into you. What are you doing here?” Ryan asked.

“Oh, we’re just getting some stuff. You know girls and shopping.” Kathy said to him.

“Hey ladies.” Tony said to them smoothly.

“Oh yeah, these are my friends, Casey and this is Tony.” Ryan pointed out.

“Hi I’m Kathy, this is Lilly and this is Heather.” She introduced herself and her friends.

“So you’re the Kathy that Ryan has been talking about.” Tony said.

“You’re not like the kind of girl that he usually dates but you are as beautiful as he said.” Tony continued.

“Thanks, I guess.” Kathy said.

“You can just ignore him.” Ryan smiled shyly.

“So where are you heading now?” Ryan asked.

“We’re on our way to the food court. Want to come along?” Lilly asked them.

“Thanks, but sorry we can’t. I have to get some stuff for my mom’s place, plus these
two guys need to help me out” Ryan said.

“I’ll call you later?” he asked her.

“Sure, no problem.” Kathy smiled.

“Okay then, see ya.” Ryan went over and gave Kathy a hug and kissed her on the cheek.

“Bye.” The girls said as the boys left.

After they left, Kathy knew the teasing would began soon.

“Oh-la-la” Lilly said.

“Someone just got a cute kiss and a new boyfriend” Heather said.

“First of all it was indeed a cute kiss on the cheek and second of all he is not my boyfriend……..yet.” she smiled.

“Okay than, so are you waiting for him to ask you to be his girlfriend. Like a proposal?” Heather asked.

“It’s his decision weather if he wants to ask me to be his girlfriend or not.” Kathy said to them

“Okay, is this conversation done, I’m really hungry, can we go to the food court now please?” Kathy asked them

“Okay okay, we’re walking now; I’m as hungry as you.” Lilly said.

They walked up 2 levels and finally reached the food court. There were tons of choices of food for them to choose from.

“So we’ll just spread out and see what we want and meet at a table.” Lilly suggested.
The girls walked around the food court and after a while they got their food and went to a table together.

“Did you tell Ryan about the winter party?” Heather asked Kathy.

“Nope, I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of him. Besides I’ll be busy performing anyway, THANKS to you.” She said sarcastically to Heather.

“Hey no need to thank me, it’s a pleasure to sign you up to perform.” She smiled.

“Okay so if you didn’t tell Ryan about the party, do you have a date then?” Lilly asked.

“Nope, I’m not planning to get a date. I got you two with me.” Kathy said.

“Um, Kathy but I got a date already. Mike asked me to the party and I said yes.” Lilly said.

“Me too, I’ve got a date already, but you know what its fine, we can still hang out with you.” Heather said.

“Fine but I don’t want to bother you guys too much.” Kathy said to the girls. She continued eating her food.

Only Heather and Lilly knows the surprise for Kathy. The girls looked at each other and knowing that they would be busted when Kathy finds out.

The alarm clock rang beside Ryan, he groan and was lazy to wake up. It was 8am and the sun was shining into his room through his glass doors. He stopped the alarm from ringing and woke up.

He took his iPhone from his side table and looked at his day planner. He has his company meeting today and he has to be in the photo shoot for his clothing line. He gets out of his bed and went to the bathroom to clean up.

Just as he walked out of his bathroom his phone rang. He looked at the caller ID, it was Steve.

He sighs just before he answered his phone, “I’m almost done. Just give me 30 minutes and I’ll be there.”

“Okay but be quick, we got a lot to do today.” Steve told him.

“Yeah okay, bye.” He ended the call and put down his phone.

Steve is Ryan’s manager and has always been managing his works. Ryan doesn’t like meetings but Steve helps him out a lot.

He got ready and went to his kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. After his cup of coffee, he got his keys and walked to his car. When he arrived at his office, there were people waiting for him; Steve was waiting for him with files and pictures waiting for him.

“Here’s the file for today’s meeting and the pictures are the models for today’s photo shoot.” Steve told him.

They went into the meeting room and a few of the next season’s design was laid out for him. He choose the designs and changes that he wants and told them what to do with it.

“Ryan we have to head to the studio now, the photo shoot will start soon and they need you there.” One of the staff told him.

“Okay you guys deal with this and I need to go now. Just call me if there’s any other change.” He told them.

Steve followed him and told him the address for the studio. Before he went into his car, Steve quickly called him. “There’s a problem at the studio. We need about 3 more girl models for the girls clothing line but we can’t find anyone else at this time.” Steve told him.

He thought for a while and got a great idea. “I have some people in mind but I’ll have to call her first.” He took out his iPhone and looked for a name in the phone book list.

Kathy was at Lilly’s place rehearsing the songs that they’re going to perform in the school’s upcoming party. The music room was filled with music played by Kathy, Lilly and Heather.

They played some Christmas songs, then Kathy rehearse her own songs. Lilly then rehearse her own songs too. They were in the middle of singing “Rocking around the Christmas tree” when Kathy’s phone rang. She put down her guitar and went to get her phone on the table. She was happy to see the caller ID.

“Hello.” She answered.

“Hi, Kathy.” Ryan said, with a sweet tone in his voice.

“What’s up?” She asked him, feeling excited.

“I was just wondering if you’re free to do me a favor.” He said.

“Oh, sure what is it?” she asked him.

“I’m in a photo shoot now for my clothing line but we don’t have enough female models for the girls clothing. So I was wondering if you’d like to be the model for this photo shoot.” He explained to her.

“Sure, I’d love to.” She answered, feeling slightly surprised with his request.

“Oh yeah bring 2 of your friends along too. I need then to be in the shoot too.” He said.

“Okay, sure but where’s the shoot?” she asked him.

“I’ll text you the address, just come now.” He said.

“Okay, I’ll just pack my things and let the girls know. See you later.” She said to him.

“Okay, thanks bye.” He said before ending the call.
She put down her phone and went to her friends.

“Hey girls, would you like to be models for a clothing line today?” she asked them.
They stopped what they were doing and looked at her.

“What, are you serious?” Lilly asked.

“Yup, just got a call from Ryan saying he needs 3 female models now.” Kathy told
them. Her phone vibrated, she got a text from Ryan of the location address.

“I just receive the address from Ryan, we better go now.” She told them.

“Wow, this is exciting.” Heather said.

The girls packed their bag and Kathy took her keys to her car and drove off.

At the set, it was chaotic. Ryan was telling his staffs what to do and the arrangements of the models. Most of the people on the set were asking for his opinion. He was wearing one of his clothing too; he was one of the models for the shoot too. When the girls arrive, they walked in and was a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing. They have never been to a set for photo shoot before.

There were rolls of backdrops, hangers filled with clothes and shoes on the ground. Lights were focusing in one area; the craft service table is at one end, filled with junk food and healthy food too. There were some skateboards on a table and some props too. The speaker was blasting out up-beat music to pump up the shoot.

The girls were looking all around the set filled with excitement. A guy came up to then and got their names, he looked through the clip folder he had on his hand flipped through the papers and found their name.

“Can you come with me girls, we need to get your make-up done and you need to change.” The guy told them.

“Yeah, sure.” Kathy told him. The guy rushed them into the dressing room, got their hair and makeup done and they got changed. While they got ready, someone knocked on the door.

“2 minutes ladies and you have to be out for the shoot.” The man said.

They got dressed quickly and walked out of the dressing room, Ryan was in the middle of his shoot. They stood there and watched him pose for the camera.

After a few shots, he saw the girls standing aside, he walked over to them.

“Hey Kathy, thanks you so much for helping out. I really appreciate it.” He smiled.

“No problem, we’re more than happy to help out.” She replied.

“You girls look good in these shirt, do you like it?” he asked.

“Yeah totally, it’s so comfortable and the designs are cool.” Heather said.

“Glad you like it.” Ryan said.

“This whole thing is really cool.” Lilly said to him, she still look very excited looking around.

“Yeah, photo shoots are cool but sometime we get problems like today we didn’t have enough models. Thank God you guys agreed to come.”

“Ladies, it’s time for your shoot.” The guy came over and told them.

“Thanks Bryan, we’ll come over.” Ryan told the man.

“So, are you ready for the shoot?” he asked them with a smile.

“Yeah, I’m pumped!” Lilly said.

They all laughed. “Yup, I’m ready.” Kathy said.

They walked over to the center of the room with the backdrop behind them. The whole thing was fun for the girls. They had props, such as skateboards.
At one point Kathy decided to step on the skateboard and she slide all the way across the room, she didn’t know how to stop.

“AHH, help, someone” Kathy shouted as she was wobbling on the skateboard.

Ryan quick ran toward her and grabbed her just as she fell, as usual she would blush.

“Thanks.” She said with a smile while she was in his arms.

“Don’t mention it, just be careful next time.” He smiled back.

“Will do” she replied.

“You really need skate board lessons.” He helped her stand.

“Yeah, I’m not so good in skateboards but surprisingly good in roller skates.” She chuckled.

“You know what, maybe you should come to the skate park tomorrow, maybe I can give you a few pointers.” He told her.

“Sure. I think we better get back to the shoot.” She said

They walked back and continued the photo shoot. After 2 hours of the shoot, they all changed and packed up their things. When the girls came out from the dressing room,
Ryan was waiting for them by the door.

“You girls can keep the outfit. It’s a way to thank you for helping out.” He handed them the t-shirts that modeled just now.

He lead the girls out to the main entrance, he opened the door like a gentleman and said “Ladies first.”

Kathy walked out first then Lilly then Heather. Just as Heather was about to walked out, she stopped and told Ryan “Hey Ryan, I don’t think Kathy have told you about her performing in our school party for Christmas.”

“Yeah, didn’t hear anything about it at all. So what’s up?” Ryan asked.

“I’m inviting you to come to our school party, you know watch her perform and she
probably doesn’t have a date for the party anyway. She’ll probably kill me if she finds out that I told you about her performing but just don’t let her know, just come to our school, here’s the entrance ticket it’s got all the information, time and date.” Heather handed the ticket to him, and then walked out.

Ryan held onto the ticket and smile, he put it into his pocket and went out the door.

A playlist of Jazzy love songs were being played on Kathy’s iPod. She was getting ready for her date; it was still very early as it was only 9am in the morning. She had a smile on her face for the whole day and dancing along to the music being played and when Michael Buble’s song was being played she had a bigger smile on her face and danced even more.

Keith walked into Kathy’s room and stared at her with a blur look on his face. Kathy was still dancing around and didn’t notice Keith staring at her. Keith was beginning to enjoyed it and he was about to laugh at her being so happy and dancing without caring weather it’s stupid or not. She continued twirling in her baby blue dress for about 20 minutes, when she finally stopped and dropped on the floor, Keith started clapping his hands.

Kathy was shocked and quickly turned her head towards her door and her jaw dropped. She put her hands on her mouth.

“How long have you been standing there?” she asked him feeling a bit embarrassed.
Keith laughed and said “About 20 minutes and it’s very entertaining.”

“Well it’s not funny and you should have knocked.” Kathy was a bit mad.

“I did but you were too busy dancing to Michael Buble’s song. What’s up with the love songs anyway?” he asked.

“I just felt like listening to it that’s all, I love Michael Buble anyway.” She replied.

“What’s with the happy mood today?” Keith asked her as he went to sit on the chair at her balcony.

“I can ask you the same question, you were whistling and got that ‘I’m in love’ face on. Anyway I got a date later in the afternoon.” Kathy smiled.

“Oh yeah, that guy. Can’t I be happy anyway? Besides, you sure you should be wearing that dress of yours, it look a bit too over dress for an afternoon date.” Keith told her.

“Really? What should I wear then? Wait why am I taking fashion advice from you?” She questioned herself.

“Trust me, I should know. Plus a guy like him, I think he’ll bring you somewhere to have fun, like an amusement park or to a Go-Kart course. Something fun.” Keith said to her. He sounded like he knew a lot and was giving some good advice to her.

“Okay fine then, go out! I need to change.” She demanded and she pushed him out of her room then locked the door.

She walked into her closet and looked through some decent blouse and shirts. She chooses her jeans but hasn’t decided on a top yet. She looked around and tried on about 10 tops and finally decided to choose a white blouse which looked clean and has nice raffles on it.

She then proceeded to choose her shoes, she decided to choose a cute purple ballerina flats. Then she took out her gray cardigan and put it on her bed. She went on to pack her bag. She put her lip gloss, a book, her glasses and her camera in her hand bag.
Suddenly her phone rang. It was Heather.

“Hello” she said.

“So you excited about your date today?” Heather asked.

“Yeah, I woke up around 8 this morning and couldn’t sleep after that and I’m getting ready now.”

“It’s only 10.” Heather pointed out.

“I know, I’m just too excited about it and I think I might be losing my mind. I thinking this must be a prank or something.” Kathy said

“Are you playing Michael Buble now?” she asked. Heather knows Kathy always plays her jazzy love songs playlist when she’s happy about something.

“Yeah. You know how I always feel about his songs. It calms me down.” Kathy said.

“Then I started dancing around in my room and Keith was staring at me for 20 minutes of my stupid performance.” Kathy told her. “I feel stupid, but I felt calm after the dance.” Kathy confessed.

Heather laughed at her statement. “Oh yeah, did you saw Lilly’s face yesterday at the cinema. She looked happy.”

“I know, I’m so happy for her. Plus my brother looks very happy too today. I heard him whistling some tunes.” Kathy said.

“Have you talked to Lilly about yesterday?” Heather asked Kathy.

“Not yet, I’ve been busy. She’ll probably call me later.” Kathy said. “Anyway I have to go now, I got another call coming in.” she continued.

“Okay then. Bye. Talk to you later and have a great date.” Heather told her.

“Oh I will. Okay bye.” Kathy said and then ended the call with Heather and proceeded answering the other phone call.

“Hello” She said.

“Hey.” It was Ryan on the other line.

“Hey, So when did you came back?” Kathy asked him.

“Yesterday. So how are you?” He asked her.

“I’m fine. Just living an ordinary life here.”

“That’s nice. Anyway I just want to tell you that I’m going to pick you up later
around 12.30pm.” Ryan said.

“Okay, no problem. You got my address already right?” she asked him.

“Yeah. I’ll see you later then.”

“Yeah. See you. Bye.”

“Bye.” Ryan said and the call ended.

Ryan put down his phone and he wasn’t sure what to do. Just went he got up from the couch, Casey came in to the living room.

“What’s up dude?” Casey asked Ryan.

“Nothing much, I got a date later.” Ryan told him.

“Who is she?” Casey asked him as he walked into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee.

“She’s the girl I told you about.” Ryan told him as he grabbed another cup and filled
it up with coffee.

“Oh that girl. So are you going to give her the necklace?” He asked him.

“I don’t think so cuz I have no idea if she the one or not and I don’t if she’s like the other girls I dated before. I don’t want to go through the same thing again. This time I’m going to take things slow.” Ryan said with a hand gesture showing slow.
Casey laughed “Okay. So where will you be bringing her to?” he asked.

“I don’t know maybe the go-kart track or maybe go have pizza. Something fun.” Ryan said.

“Should have guessed it already.” Casey responded.

“Whatever man. I’m out” Ryan said as he walked out of the kitchen.

Casey laughed and didn’t bother him, he continued drinking his coffee. Ryan went to get his keys to his Mercedes CL63 and went out the door. He still wasn’t sure what to get her but finally decided to go to the nearest florist to get some flowers.

He went into the florist and looked around and saw some nice purple roses, they looked fresh. He finally decided to get her some of those roses. After he got the flowers, he drove to Kathy’s house. He had a hard time finding the place but after a few turns, he finally found the house.

He walked stopped his car and grabbed the flowers. He was feeling nervous and his decision it to meet the parents first. He walked up to her doorsteps and pressed the doorbell.

“Coming.” Someone shouted from the house.

He stood there with one had in his front pocket and the other holding the flowers. Someone finally came to the door.

“Yes?” Keith answered the door. Keith knew who he was but he was just messing with him.

“Hi, I’m looking for Kathy.” Ryan said nervously.

“Sorry you got the wrong house.” Keith told him with a serious face.

“I’m sure I got the right place and I remember you.” Ryan said to him with a confuse look on his face.

“No you don’t know me and I don’t know you.” Keith continued teasing him. He looked behind Ryan and saw his Mercedes, his eyes opened wide open. “Hey tell you what; I’ll trade you my car with yours.” Keith continued.

Ryan looked back at his car and said “Yeah, I don’t think so. I’m not being selfish though.”

“Keith who is it?” Kathy shouted from the kitchen.

“Just some guy with a nice car!” Keith shouted back to her.

Kathy walked out of the kitchen and walked to the front door. She smiled when she saw
Ryan’s face but embarrassed and wasn’t sure what Keith did or said to Ryan.

“Hey Ryan. Sorry about my brother messing with you.” Kathy said shyly.

Ryan laughed slightly “No it was entertaining. Here, it’s for you.” He handed over the flowers to her.

“Thanks, I love purple.” Kathy said to him and she smelled the fresh flowers.

“You’re welcome. Glad you like it.” Ryan replied. He was happy she liked the flowers.

“So are your parents home, I’d like to say hi to them.”

“My parents happen to be out right now so the only guardian here is Keith, the guy who just messed with you.” She punched Keith’s arm. “Ouch: Keith said, rubbing his arm.

“Okay so I’ve already said hi to him.” Ryan said. “You ready to go?” he continued.

“Hold on, you should bring her back home not later than 8pm tonight.” Keith suddenly put on his serious face and acted like his dad.

“Yes sir, will do.” Ryan said with a smile.

“If you dare hurt her I’ll get you” Keith continued and this time he did the ‘I got my eyes on you’ to Ryan.

“I promise I won’t hurt her and I’ll take good care of her.” Ryan said to Keith and assured Keith.

“Okay I’m ready, we should go now.” Kathy took her bag and told Ryan.

“Bye Keith, I’ll see you when I’m back.” She told Keith as she followed Ryan to his car.

Ryan opened his car door for Kathy like a gentleman. “Wow, nice car.” Kathy remarked.

“Thanks.” Ryan replied.

He went into the driver’s seat and started the engine. Keith was still standing at the door watching them.

“Does your brother does that to all your dates?” Ryan asked.

“Yeah, he is as over protective as my dad.” Kathy said.

“Well he is a funny guy. I like him.” Ryan said.

“Yeah that’s his first impression to everyone I know.” Kathy confessed.

“He’s a funny guy. So is he working already?” Ryan asked her.

“Yeah, he has his own small company and he’s studying his masters for architecture.” Kathy told Ryan.

“That sounds cool. You think he knows how to design a cool skate park?” Ryan asked, he was planning to build a new skate park for the community.

“I’m not sure, I’ve never seen him done any skate parks before but he did some great buildings.” She said.

“So want to have pizza or something different?” Ryan asked his date politely.

“Something different would be cool. I haven’t really tried much restaurant here. Most of the time I only have pizzas with my friends or my mom would cook for us at home.” Kathy told him.

“Cool, we can try the Beach Garden café at the San Clemente Pier. I heard it’s a nice place.” Ryan suggested.

“Okay, sounds nice.” She said.

About 20 minutes later, they arrived at the café. Kathy walked beside Ryan and when they arrived at the café, they decided to sit inside. A waitress at the restaurant came to their table and brought them their menu.

“Here’s your menu, I’ll give you some time to decide and when you’re ready just call for me.” The waitress said.

“Thank you.” They both said.

They scanned through the menu after a few minutes, Ryan called the waitress backed. They ordered their food and continued talking after that.

“So you enjoy being famous?” she asked him.

“Yeah, it if cool but there are pros and cons to being famous. Most of the time I just keep myself focus on what I do best and my family keeps me grounded, which is really good.” He told her.

“I’m surprise you didn’t act like how the other girls usually do when they see me.” He said curiously.

“Well, I try not to be too much. I really don’t want to freak you out.” She said, hoping it’s the right thing to say.

“Well you’re really cool. How is your hand by the way?” Ryan asked.

“What?” she wasn’t sure what he was talking about.

“Your hand, the other day I saw a scratch on it when we fell.” He pointed to her hand with a small scar.

“Oh, that. It’s fine. It didn’t hurt too much. There is a small scar though but it’s barely noticeable.” She rubbed the scar on her hand.

“So what do you enjoy doing?” Ryan asked her.

“I like to go out a lot but I got school activities most of the time. I hang out with my two best friends a lot and sometime we just sing and dance randomly.” Kathy told him with a smile.

“Sounds fun, I love hanging with my friends too. After those skate tours and travelling around the world, it’s very tiring. So when I come back I’ll just go out with my friends or maybe spend time with my brothers since I don’t live at my mom’s place anymore.” He said while taking another bite of his food.

“You sound close with your brothers.” She said to him.

“Yeah I am, well after my parents’ divorce, I’m like the man of the house so they look up to me especially Kane, my youngest brother.”

“I know Kane; I mean I’ve seen him in your show before. He’s really cute.” She said and took a sip of her drink.

Ryan laughed, looking at her being nervous. “So you watched my show before?”

“Yeah.” She said nervously and smiled slightly.

“That’s cool, you like the show?” he asked her.

“Yeah, I enjoyed watching it. I’m not a stalker though.” She quickly cleared up any misunderstanding.

Ryan chuckled, “I know you’re not a stalker. Anyway, tell me about your family.”

“Well, My dad is American-Chinese, as in my grandma is American and my grandfather is Chinese. My mom is American born Chinese. She doesn’t really look like a Chinese though. So technically, I’m Chinese.”

“Okay, I was expecting you to tell me about your parents but yeah, that would work too. Very interesting family history though. At first I thought you have Native American roots but I guess not.” Ryan said.

“Well I think I have some Native American roots too.” She giggled.

“Wow, your roots are defiantly very interesting. Do you know how to skateboard or surf?” Ryan asked her.

“I can rollerblade a bit but I can skateboard or surf. It’s hard for me. What about you, I mean what are your interests in music?” She asked him.

“I just listen to anything that has a fast beat, like Lil’ Wayne’s music is cool” Ryan replied.

“Cool, Lil’ Wayne’s music is nice. I listen to almost anything. I think even the songs that you’ve never heard of.” Kathy said sounding like a music expert.

“So you love music huh?”

“Yeah, my room is practically filled with CDs and my iPod is full.”

“We should go to a concert some day.” Ryan suggested.

“That’s sounds cool. I have never been to a concert before actually. My dad won’t let me, he says it’s dangerous.” She told him.

“I understand how you dada feels, he just want you to be safe. I’m surprise he allows you to go on today’s date with me.”

“Well I talked him into letting me go on this date. I got my mom on my side so that’s good news, cuz my dad listens to my mom.”

“I would love to meet your mom to thank her.” He smiled.

After their lunch, Ryan brought her to race go-kart and Kathy pretty much enjoyed the world day. After 5 rounds, Kathy won the race and beat Ryan by just a few seconds. The race was pretty close between them.

After the racing, they went to the beach to hang out for a while and chatted more. They watched the sunset and set there just admiring the view. Ryan wasn’t sure if he should hold her hand or not but when they were about to leave, Ryan reached out his hand to help her up.

“Thanks.” She said as she stood up.

Kathy looked at her hand and Ryan was still holding it. She started to blush and Ryan smiled.

“You don’t mind me holding you hand?” Ryan smile as he asked her.

“No, not at all.” She smiled.

They walked down the beach for a while, when it got darker, they decided to go home.

“So will your parents be home by now?” he asked her.

She looked at her watch to check the time. “Yeah, I think they’ll be home by now and my mom is probably cooking dinner already.”

“You love your mom’s cooking?”

“Yeah, she’s a really good cook, last time, she joined a cooking competition and she won first place.”

“Now she sounds like a very good cook, I should try her food some day.” He smiled.
They finally arrived at her house after a while. Ryan walked her up to her front door.

“Thanks for today, I had a great time.” Kathy said.

“I had a great time too.”Ryan smiled to her.

Just as Kathy was about to open the door, someone opened it. It was her dad.

“Oh hi dad.” Kathy said.

“Hi sir, I’m Ryan. Thanks for letting Kathy go on a date with me today.”

“Oh, hi there Ryan. It’s no problem, as long as you take a good care of her. She the baby of the house you know?”

“Dad.” She was a bit embarrassed with what her dad said about her.

“Okay sorry, baby.” Her dad said.

“Come by our place anytime. We can have a chat sometime.” Her dad said to Ryan with a smile.

“Sure, will do. Thanks again.” Ryan reached out his hand to shake Kathy’s dad’s hand.

“Drive safely. Nice to meet you.” He shook Ryan’s hand.

“Nice to meet you too sir. Have a good night.” Ryan said with a polite smile.

“Okay dad, go back in. I’ll come in soon.” She pushed her dad into the house. Then turned to Ryan and smiled.

“So what do you think of my dad?” She asked him.

“Well he didn’t look scary and he’s a nice guy.” Ryan told her while putting one of his hand in his pocket.

“Well I wonder why, cuz that didn’t seem like him at all. Maybe he likes you.” She said.

“Anyway, I better go now, you dada will probably come out soon if I don’t let you in.” he smiled.

“Okay, drive safe back. Don’t drive too fast.”She told him with her gentle voice.

“I will.” He smile.

He said bye to her and gave her a hug, she was very happy to receive the hug from him.

Kathy watched him walked back to his car. She waved to him before he drove off.

‘The best day of my life, EVER.’ She thought to herself.

“Finally today is the last day of school!” Lilly said as she walked with her arms in the air.

“You guys want to come over to my place for hang out later?” Kathy asked.

“Sure.” Bothe Heather and Lilly said.

“Hey Lil, my brother asked me something weird yesterday, he was asking me if you ever ask or say anything about him.” Kathy told her.

“Like what?” Heather asked.

“I don’t know, he just asked me. It was pretty weird.” Kathy said.

Lilly didn’t say anything; she just smiled and continued walking in silence.

“You’re quiet. What’s up?” Kathy and heather knows something is up and she’s not telling them.

“Nothing, I just want to walk in silence. Besides the weather today is very cold. I don’t have my lip gloss with me; my lips are drying up so I can’t talk much.” Lilly said.

“Don’t worry I got extra in my locker, it’s like yours, so problem solve.” Heather said. Kathy smiled at her smart idea.

Lilly frowned instantly; she knew her idea of avoiding wouldn’t work. She was still trying to think of ideas to avoid telling them that she might have feelings for Keith. She did always find him cute, good looking and charming. The thing is that he is almost 24 and she’s still in high school. The last year of high school and off to college. She is still very scared that she and her 2 best friends will be going to different colleges.

They finally reached their lockers and Heather took out the lip gloss and hand it over to Lilly.

“So spill now, tell us what’s up. We know you’re hiding something.” Kathy said.

“Em, I have to go to the restroom before the class start.” Lilly quickly ran to the restroom before they could say anything.

“Okay, we have to plan something to just make her spill it out later.”Kathy said to Heather. “You plan something, you’re always the one with the plan.” She continued.

“Why do I have to plan? Oh well, we’ll just grab hold of her later during recess.” Heather said.

“Okay I’ll have a class with her before that so I can get her and we’ll meet by our locker.” Kathy said.

The time passed very quickly surprisingly. The recess bell finally rang and Lilly was sitting beside Kathy, she quickly grabbed Lilly’s hand.

“You’re not going anywhere, you’re coming with me.” Kathy said to Lilly.

“Why?” she asked.

“You got some confessions to do and it’s not in the church, it’s by our locker.” Kathy said to her.

“Fine, I’ll walk.” She laughed at Kathy’s statement and finally agreed to follow Kathy.

Heather was already waiting at her locker, she was checking the time on her Guess watch.

“Finally you’re here.” She said when she saw the girls walking towards her. Kathy was still pulling Lilly towards the locker.

“Fess up girl.” Heather said to Lilly while acting like a cop questioning his suspect.

“I’ll take when we go to your place later.” Lilly said. “Will Keith be at home later, cuz I want to make sure the house will only be the 3 of us and no one else will hear about what I’m gonna tell you guys.” She continued.

“Keith will be out, he’s going to be at my dad’s office for the whole day and my mom is at work. So no one will be home.” Kathy said.

“Is it about a boy or school or your parents?” Kathy asked.

“I’m not saying anything now. We’ll just meet at my car after school okay?” Kathy told them.

“Yeah sure. Oh by the way, next week the school is going to have the annual winter end of the year party. So there are posters and sign up forms for performers or volunteer to help plan the party.”Heather said

“So you signed us up?” Kathy asked her.

“So what will be doing?” Lilly asked.

“I’m going to plan the whole thing, I have this great idea of decorating the whole place with the best decoration and Mrs. Bell said I’m in charge of the whole thing. So I’m going to be your boss. We’ll probably have to come back to school to decorate the place and you 2 are performing.” Heather said and she knows they would get mad at her for signing them up to perform without their consent.

“WHAT?!” Both Lilly and Kathy said.

Heather smiled but she knows it will be a great idea. She secretly invited 2 talent scouts to attend their school party. She likes it when both of her friends sing, she knows they got talent and they’re not showing it to the public.

“Fine, just this time.” Kathy said.

Lilly had performed before so it wasn’t a problem for her but it would be the first time for Kathy to perform in front of a live audience.

“By the way, you both are performing individually and then performing a duet together.” Heather continued telling her plans for the party.

Kathy’s jaw dropped. This was too much for her, she actually has stage fright but would love to perform on stage. She did try it once in a diner and it didn’t work out well for her, she ended up wanting to puke and she had to get off stage instantly. It was one of the most embarrassing moments in her life.

Lilly saw Kathy’s face going pale. “Breath breath breath!” she told Kathy while patting her back.

“You’ll be able to do it Kath; I have full confidence in you.” Heather said.

“I’ll have a deal with you. You perform and I’ll treat you dinner for the whole week.” Heather said to her, she felt a bit guilty after seeing the look on Kathy’s face.

“Deal, just because I know you’re feeling guilty and I need to sit right now.” Kathy said. She was still taking in deep breaths and trying not to faint. She was holding onto her locker.

“I’ll practice with you; we can go to my place for rehearsal. I got a proper room for all the music related stuffs.” Lilly offered.

Kathy was feeling a bit better. She was still trying to take it all in but she still think it was too much.

“So we have to sing some Christmas songs and some other covers of people’s song right?” Kathy asked Heather.

“Yeah, you can even sing your own song. I love your songs. Maybe you can sing like 1 or 2 of your songs. That’s not too much to ask for right?” Heather said to her.

“Fine, I’ll do it for you.”Kathy said with a smile.

The bell finally rang and they all went to their respected classes. After school, Kathy was already waiting in her car for the girls. They went to get some junk food and went to get their Pizza orders before they went back to Kathy’s place.

After Kathy parked her car at the garage, she locked the car and took out the house keys, her keys have her favorite keychain on, it has her name specially made for her from her mother. The girls helped carried some food while she opened the door, after they went into the house, Kathy set off the house alarm system. They set the food on the table and Heather went to her Panasonic speaker where Kathy had left her iPod, she turned on the iPod and played a playlist which Kathy had made. The song “My boo” by Alicia Keys and Usher was playing. Kathy went to the kitchen to get some glasses for their soda.

They finally sat down and had their meal and started chatting.

“So confess now.” Kathy said to Lilly.

“I don’t know how to tell you this.”Lilly said to them. “It’s about a boy” she hinted them.

“Oh is it Michael Bryant?” Heather asked. “He looks cute and the way he looks at you is like he has a crush in you.” She continued.

“Oh maybe its Josh Parson, he’s got cute eyes and great hair. I see you eyeing him sometimes.” Kathy said.

“No and no” Lilly said after hearing their theories.

“Then who is it?” both Heather and Kathy asked at the same time.
Lilly took another bite of her honey garlic chicken pizza and chewed it slowly making the girls wait.

“Come on chew faster and tell us already!” Kathy said feeling a bit impatient.

“Okay okay.” Lilly said. “It’s Keith.” She finally confessed. She was hoping for a gasp from the girls but instead they asked more questions without gasp.

“Is it Keith Downey from Biology?” Heather asked.

“No.” Lilly said but feeling a bit confuse with her friends reaction.

“Oh sweetie, do you mean Keith Urban. He’s way out of you league plus he’s already married with Nicole Kidman.” Kathy said it looking gullible.

“What? No.” Lilly laughed at what Kathy said. Heather looked at Kathy giving her a look.

“Who is it then? We know his first name is Keith but which class is he from?” Kathy asked.

“He’s not from our school.” Lilly continued.

“Okay so he’s not from our school and his name is Keith.” Heather said while taking a sip of her soda.

“He’s older; he is still studying just not at our level.” Lilly gave more hints to her friends.

“This is hard, we have been talking about this for a while and we still don’t know who he is.” Kathy said.

“Just tell us already.” Kathy continued.

“Fine, It’s your brother” Lilly quickly hid her face.

This time the girls gasp their jaw dropped instantly. Kathy covered her mouth and Heather dropped her pizza on her plate. Lilly knew their reaction would be like that.

“Hold on, you mean you have a crush on my brother?!” Kathy asked but still in deep shock.

“Uh huh” Lilly mumbled while her head still being hidden.

“Well your brother is kinda cute and cool” Heather told Kathy.

“Awww, you have a crush on my brother? That’s so sweet.” Kathy finally said without being shock anymore but instead she was happy about it.
Lilly slowly lifted up her head and looked at Kathy. She was glad her friends didn’t mind about her crush.

“Please please don’t tell anyone about it.” Lilly pleaded them.

“Sure we won’t” Heather ensured Lilly.

“When did this all started anyway?” Kathy asked.

“Few years back but the other day I am sure I have a huge crush on him.” Lilly
started blushing.

“Wait the other day, do you mean when you both were acting strange when I can out of Kathy’s room?” Heather asked. Lilly nodded her head.

“What happened?” Kathy asked.

“Remember I told you guys I wanted to go to the bathroom, and I did. So when I was done and opened the door, Keith just happened to be outside and was about to come in so we bumped in to each other and we were facing each other on the floor. I blushed. Then it got a bit awkward.” Lilly told them.

“OMG! Sounds like a TV drama.” Kathy said.

“So that’s why he asked me those questions about whether you asked anything about him or not. I was very confused when he asked me that.” Kathy told them.

“He probably has a crush on Lilly too or he’s just a bit embarrassed about the situation.” Heather said.

The girls cleaned up the dining table and after than they went into Kathy’s room. They went to her balcony in her room and sat there. Kathy was playing her guitar while Lilly sang along and Heather always enjoy when they do this and occasionally she would sign along or be Lilly’s backup singer.

“I getting nervous thinking about the date this Saturday” Kathy told the girls.

“Your date would be fine; it’s your dream anyway. It’s a dream come true for you.” Lilly said to her.

“I know but what if it turns out to be something bad like he’s suddenly not interested in me. You know he did say before that he like blonds.”

“Well he has been trying to find you and he was the one who came up to get your number.” Lilly reminded her.

“I guess so.” Kathy said.

“Isn’t he in Spain, I wonder if he got you anything from there like some cool Spanish jewellery.” Heather said.

“That would be asking too much but it would be very sweet.” Kathy said with a huge smile on her face.

Now Heather just put thoughts in her mind, will he buy her a gift or something nice, but then again it would only be their first date and it would be too early to accept gift from him, If he did and she accepted he would just think she’s desperate.

Suddenly there was a knock on Kathy’s door.

“Hey Kath, are you in there?” Keith opened the door.

“Hey, I thought you’re going to be at dad’s office for the whole day.” Kathy said to him

“Yeah well, it got really boring there so I decided to some back to see if you want to go for a movie with me.” Keith told her.
When he came in closer into the room, he finally saw Lilly sitting there.

“Hey girls.” He greeted them.

Lilly didn’t looked at him, he didn’t actually look at her too, he wasn’t sure if it was still awkward between them or not.

“So you guys want to go for a movie?” he asked them.
Kathy looked at her friends to see if they want to go or not.

“Sure!”Heather said and Lilly had to agree with them too.

“Okay, I’ll wait for you all at the car.” Keith told them. He walked out of the room and went to the car.

They both could see that Lilly was reluctant to go with them.

“Oh come on, it will be fun.” Kathy said to her.

“Okay.” Lilly said.
They all got ready and went downstairs to the car.

The car ride was rather silence but luckily it was a 15 minutes drive. When they got there, Keith went to buy the tickets while the girls went to get popcorn and some other food.

They went inside the theater and found their seats, both Kathy and Heather had planned to sit together and let Lilly and sit with Keith, when Lilly finally realized what they had planned it was too late to change their seats already as the movie was starting.

Lilly gave the girls a mean look but they ignored her and gave her a clueless look. Keith didn’t mind. He seemed like he enjoyed sitting next to her, he had a secret smile on his face which the girls didn’t notice.

Just as Kathy wanted to silent her phone, she received a message.

“Hey, I can’t wait for the date on Saturday. – Ryan”

She smiled when she saw the message and after reading this message she lost her doubts about him and was excited about the date too.

When Keith heard the door shut, he opened his door slowly and peeped out to make sure the girls are gone already. Kathy saw him peeping through his door; she stopped in front of him and stared at him.

“What are you doing?” She was curious.

“Um, uh, nothing.” Keith quickly responded.

“Okay then, I’m off to bed. I got school tomorrow.” She continued and trying to
ignore his weirdness.

“Em, Kath.” Keith stopped her.

“Yeah?”

“I was just wondering, did Lilly say or asked anything about me?” he asked nervously.

“No” She said slowly. “Why you ask?” she continued.

“Oh nothing.” Keith quickly said. “Okay then good night sis.” He quickly shuts the door. Kathy was confused with what just happened.

“Okay, that was weird.” She said to herself. She walked into her room still thinking about her brother’s weird question.

-In Spain-

Ryan ran up the stairs, and then skated down the railings. He then did a 360 flip. The camera took a great shot of his moves.

He took a break at the side, leaning against a wall. P-Rod skated over and talked to him. They were discussing on what other tricks to do. Joey Duhamel, the newcomer of the skateboard industry was there too. Joey just did an impressive skate trick on the ledge and the boys wanted to try it too, Ryan tried it twice and succeeded the third time. Ryan is very good in learning new tricks. He always looks around the place to find ways to do new tricks.

After about 2 days of skating, they finally finished filming, they have one more day there to explore around the city, and it’s a reward for them for their hard work.
The next day they all met at the lobby and just explore the city for the whole day. Barcelona is a beautiful city to be in. It’s a place where adventure and romance happens.

They decided to visit a flea market to see if they can find any cool stuff and just look around. The place was crowded but they were told that it would be even more crowded on Saturday so luckily for them it was a Thursday. There was a tour guide bringing them around.

They walked pass by each stalls and looked at the cool antiques stuffs, at one point, Joey was goofing around with an old Spanish hat and the guy at the stall demanded him to buy it so now Joey actually owns the old hat which he didn’t really want.

As they walked, something caught Ryan’s attention. It was a beautiful old necklace. He walked towards the stall to have a better look at the necklace. The woman in the stall smiled to him and said something in Spanish. She was explaining to him about what the necklace’s symbol means.

The guys finally realized that Ryan was missing, they started looking for him. The tour guide, Adam found Ryan and walked towards him. He saw Ryan looking clueless.

“Hey Adam, can you translate what she is saying?” Ryan asked him.
Adam said something to the woman something in Spanish and then listened to her.

“So what she’s trying to say is that the necklace you’re holding has a very meaningful value to it.” Adam said.

“What kind of meaningful value?” Ryan asked.
The woman continued speaking in Spanish and Adam continues listening to her.

“The heart on the necklace obviously means the power of love and the ring which surrounds the heart means forever. Of course the word on the heart ‘AMOR’ you know what it means.” Adam smiled after explaining to Ryan.

The necklace was in bronze color, even though it was old but it still looks beautiful. He knew he had to get it. It could be the only one in the whole world. He bought the necklace. He knew who he wants to give it too and he think it would be a perfect gift.

“That looks nice. Is it for your mom?” P-Rod asked him.

“No, it’s not for my mom, it’s for someone else.” Ryan replied with a smile.

“Ohhhh, who is it?” Joey asked.

“Her name is Kathy, she seems cool. We’re going out on Saturday.” Ryan said.

“Isn’t that a bit too fast to give her something on the first date?” Ryan didn’t
thought about that.

“You know you don’t have to give her anything during the first date, you just have to pay for the meal dude.” Joey said to Ryan.

“I know, I’ve dated before, maybe I’ll give this to her after a few dates.” Ryan told him.

“How would you know that you’re gonna be dating her for a long time, besides you haven’t even started your date yet.” P-Rod said to him.

“I can still keep the necklace for someone; I can give it to my mom if it doesn’t work out.” Ryan said

“Well you’re already talking about the girl in a way that you’re sure she’s gonna be your girlfriend.” Joey said.

Ryan laughed, “I didn’t say anything. I just think she’s cool, plus the necklace could be a ‘sorry’ gift, cuz the other day I accidentally bumped into her and made her fell, she even got a scratch on her hand.”

They continued talking and walking around the market. Ryan and the guys were still talking about dates and girls but P-Rod kept giving them advise, since he’ already married and believes that he’s found the one.

After hearing P-Rod’s story, he started thinking about finding the right girl for him. He thinks back about all the girls he dated before and why his past relationships failed. It’s pretty hard finding the right girl, he thought to himself.

“Bye mom, bye dad.” Kathy shouted from the door. Keith was standing beside her.

“Don’t worry guys, I’ll take good care of her and make sure she doesn’t go wild.”

Keith shouted to his parents while putting his hand on his little sister’s head.
Kathy looked at him and gave him a mean look.

“What? Go wild?” Kathy asked him.

“See you’re almost going wild already by just asking me these questions. Now come on

kiddo, let’s order pizzas!” Keith suggested.
Just as Kathy was about to pick up the phone, the doorbell rang. “Oh it must be the girls.” Kathy said.

She opened the door. “Hey, come in” “I was just about to order pizzas, what do you guys want?”

“Oh I was barbeque chickens coated with honey and I want some garlic bread too.” Heather said.

“I want spaghetti bolognaise and fried cheese sticks.” Lilly said.

“Okay, I’ll just order a lot, and then we can all share.” Kathy said. “Keith what do you want me to order for you?” Kathy shouted.

“I just want a large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and don’t forget the soda!” Keith shouted from his room.

“HI, Keith “Heather shouted.
Keith walked out and came to the living room to greet the girls.

“Hey Heather, you’re here. How are you?” He went over to give Heather a hug and she hugged him back.

“I’m fine thanks; I haven’t seen you in a while too.” Heather said.

“Well yeah, I’ve been busy with my studies and my business. So where was the last place you went?”

“I went to Germany, more business trips.” Heather said while playing with the pillow on the couch.

“Well you seemed more like a grown up compare to me, you got more business trips than me.” Keith said as he sat on the couch.

“Yup, that right. Okay thanks.” Kathy said before she put down the phone.

“They’ll send it here 20 minutes later. I told them to hurry with the order.” Kathy said

“Well I’m starving, do you have any snacks that I can eat now?” Lilly said.

“Yeah, we got a bag of chips in the cupboard in the kitchen.” Keith said. “I’ll go get it for you, do you guys want any drinks?” he continued.

“I’ll have coke.” Heather said

“I’ll have coke too, thanks!” Lilly said.

“I’ll have root beer please” Kathy said

“Okay so that’s 2 coke and one root beer.” Keith said while acting like a waiter taking down orders.

The girls laughed at his actions. Keith is always their entertainer. The girls sat on the comfortable couch, covered with floral patterns. The couch was chosen by Kathy’s mom, her mom picked out most of the furniture in their house.

“So can we go to the bowling alley with you tomorrow?” Lilly asked. “Don’t worry, we won’t bother you, we’ll just have our own alley that’s near to yours.” Kathy added.

“Sure guys, besides, it could be fun to go there together.” Heather said.

“So what do you think of Jeremy, seemed like you guys have already bonded during chemistry.” Kathy said.

“Well he seems cool and he’s pretty smart just not very good in chemistry and he asked me to tutor him when he needs help.” Heather went on about Jeremy with a smile on her face throughout the whole conversation.
The two girls just listen to Heather patiently and Keith decided to join them too.

“So is that what you girls do now in school, chase boys?” Keith teased the girls.

“What? Chase boys?” Kathy asked. “No one does that, the only person who does it is Heather.” She added.

The doorbell rang. *ring ring

“FOOD!!” Lilly shouted

“I’ll get it.” Keith said

Keith closed the door after paying the delivery guy. He brought the food to the dining table and the girls were already seated, waiting for their food.

“So here’s my pizza, your food and well take it yourself.” Keith said as he settled the food on the table.

“I’m so hungry I could eat a horse.” Kathy said.

“Eww, you do not want to eat a horse.” Heather said with a disgusted look on her face.

“It’s only a figured speech. Don’t panic.” Kathy laughed.

“I know but it sounds disgusting. Anyway let’s eat.” Heather said. Lilly was already stuffing her mouth with her food.
They finally ate their food and chatted.

“I’m so full right now.” Kathy said while rubbing her tummy.

“Me too.” Lilly said

“Me three” Heather demanded too.

“Dessert anyone?” Keith asked while holding a bowl of ice-cream on his hand. They all looked at him with a sad face. They couldn’t eat anymore but they really wanted the ice-cream.

“No thanks.” Heather said.

“Let’s go to my room.” Kathy suggested.

The girls followed behind Kathy to her room. They’ve always liked hanging out in her room. They continued chatting about Ryan, Jeremy, school and how Lilly haven’t’ find her guy yet.

“I’m going to the bathroom.” Lilly said

She walked out of the room and walked to the bathroom. When she was done washing her hands, she opened the door, just as she open and walked out, she bumped into Keith. They both fell on the floor.

Lilly blushed instantly. “Sorry” She didn’t dare to look at him in the face.

“No, it’s okay. I didn’t know you were in there.” Keith said as he got up, he reached out his had to help her up.

“You okay?” He asked her.

“No harm done. “ She was still blushing. Then she smiled acting like nothing happened.

Keith then realized that Lilly blushed, He almost blushed too but before he could, Heather opened Kathy’s room door.

“What’s taking you so long Lil’?” Heather asked.

“Oh nothing. I was just about to come in.” Lilly said. Heather could sense the awkwardness between Lilly and Keith.

“Okay, what are you two up to?” Heather asked.

“Nothing. I’ll go into the room first.” Lilly rushed to Kathy’s room.

“Yeah, I’ll go to my room.” Keith said and walked towards his room.
Heather went into Kathy’s room and sat down on the floor and stare at Lilly. Lilly looked away.

“Why are you staring at Lilly?” Kathy asked Heather.

“Oh nothing, I’m just trying to read her mind.” Heather joked.

“Okay, I’ll just leave you and your weirdness to yourself.” Kathy said.

“So you think Ryan is thinking about me now? I wonder what the time difference between here and Spain is.” Kathy continued questioning.

“Yes, maybe he’s thinking of you right now. You can Google the time difference you know?” Lilly said.

“It’s getting late, we better go. Tomorrow is a school day.” Heather said.

“I’ll see you girls tomorrow.” Kathy said and she hugged her friends.

“Keith the girls are leaving.” Kathy knocked his door.

“Okay. Bye girls.” He just shouted from his room. He didn't dare coming out of his room after that incident with Lilly.

“That’s rude.”Kathy shouted back at Keith.

She walked her friends to the main door and make sure they get into Heather’s car safely. She waved at her friends before they left.
